PFO Beginnings

Family camp over, we arrived in Houghton, New York on the eve of PFO.   After spending the first night at the Inn at Houghton, we are settled in College Flats.  The surroundings are peaceful, green, lush, and very small town.  Quiet would be an apt description.

I continue to be amazed at how God is honing us.   There is no Starbucks.  Not sure where to find a newspaper.  The restaurants in town are Subway and China Star.  We've had several rain storms, little sun, cooler temperatures.  We are living in an apartment for the first time in our married lives.  Add to that, lots of stairs and walking.  Hills to climb on our morning jaunts and stairs to climb to get to this apartment, the cafeteria, and just about any meeting to which we need to go.

All  of these circumstances impress me because our living conditions are much more like Germany, much less like Southern California.  Where we are right now looks and feels much more like where we are going than where we came from.  How good God is to make our way.  He truly is our Shepherd Who leads, restores, comforts, prepares, and keeps forever!
