To Be...or Not to Be

Reading John 6 focused me on the pressure Christ received to "do" (make miracles happen) and the expectation of the people to be given a prescription to "do" to make them whole.  Christ's answer to those who wanted a performance was not to "do".  He asked them to "be"... Be His...Be Holy...Be-lieve.  "Doing" can be accomplished and forgotten.   "Being" is a life-long process, indicating time and thought.

That is right where I am living.  Having a granddaughter residing with us means much more "doing", but, my spirit is distressed because I am called into "being".  Accomplishing tasks only means more tasks that need to be handled.  My administrator micromanaging my teaching produces the expectation of more "doing".  But I'm called to "being".

From the days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, not has the eye seen a God besides You, who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him.  Isaiah 64:4

I conjure many plans to make myself less stressed and feel at peace.  I struggle, bargain, and design arguments.  Yet none of my plans compare to the peace of God which comes from waiting on Him.  So with a deep breath I seek to wait on the One Whose peace I need.
