"Our Bags Are Packed, We're Ready To Go..."

Sunday, October 31st, Smitty and I fly to Kandern, Germany for a two week trip into our future.  The visit gives us the opportunity to glimpse our ministry vision in the flesh, and to meet many of those with whom we will work over the next four years.

Today the personnel department at Black Forest Academy emailed our schedule for the first week.  While the schedule is both intimidating and exhilarating, we find ourselves praising God for His awesome provision.  Clearly, God has led in the selection of the people and activities in which we will participate.   The week includes time with BFA staff and prospective supervisors, dinner with GEM (Greater Europe Mission) staffers, tours of the Academy campuses, and opportunities to see the students in action.  We expect to gain details necessary to clarify and focus on the tasks of packing our home in the States for our new home in Germany, but we know our time with the people will be the treasure of our trip.
Kandern is located in the bottom left "corner" of Germany, just below Freiburg.  Our second week will take us to Heidleburg and Cologne.

The second week we plan to do some traveling in western Germany, taking time to process what we've learned and map out our next steps.  We return to California in mid November eager to complete the job of developing a Ministry Partner team and moving to Kandern by late summer 2011.

Please pray for:
  1. Intentional relationships with students and staff
  2. Clarity and focus for what needs to be done in the States when we return

Please check this blog for updates while we are in Germany!  Thank you for walking with us.
