Yesterday I attended my first ever teachers' meeting in German. The English-speaking principal sat next to me and translated, but much of what was said I understood. Understanding the German satisfied me, but there is so much more that truly moved me about the meeting.
Herr Rost spoke first about the privilege the staff has of walking as a team. He then reminded us, from I Corinthians 1:3 that God has extended to us peace and grace, and He asks us to walk in that gift. Something very special happened to my spirit as I listened to him exhort all of us to "Friede und Gnade"- peace and grace- in German. He told of his neighbor who said that it is impossible for Germans and Americans to work together and I was reminded that nothing is impossible with God.
As we prayed together some prayed in English, some in German, but all prayed to the Lord God of our hearts. The Spirit set before us a goal of being salt and light together. The staff at BFA Wollbach (the elementary school) have such a privilege of doing the impossible and reflecting God's light in a community in need of light. I am blessed. I have received "Friede und Gnade".
